LČR has its headquarters in Hradec Králové and it has an organisational structure of three-level management system. The first level is the headquarters; the second level comprises 7 regional units – regional directorates, 5 forest enterprises and 1 seed operation; the third level comprises 62 forest management units.

LČR forestry strategy is based on sustainable management of forests based on maximum use of the nature’s power that will provide for ongoing and balanced production in the entrusted forest. LČR aims at creating stable, high-quality forest with mixed tree species and with various spatial and age groups.

LČR also provides major service to private small forest owners, namely the function of professional forest manager as prescribed by law for all small forest owners. LČR is the only entity in the Czech Republic that has implemented internal qualification for professional forest managers.

LČR economic priority is a balanced management, financing forestry activities from own resources and independence from state budget. In its entire history, LČR has been a stable company, which is confirmed by the fact that it has regularly scored in the first half of CZECH TOP 100. In 2004, CRA Rating Agency rated LČR CRA Rating A+ / czAaa. This is the highest possible rating of Czech enterprises.

LČR is the biggest manager of protected areas and the most important partner of nature conservation bodies in the Czech Republic. LČR wants to respect the management regime defined for forests in protected areas.

LČR is certified under PEFC system that proves by an independent audit that the company manages forests in line with sustainability principles and in an environment- friendly way.
